Mike Williams - The Eagle Song

MIKE WILLIAMS THE EAGLE SONG

This is so awesome! Mike Williams is a former pastor, but now a comedian and an inspirational speaker. He concludes all of his presentations with a very spiritual or inspirational story or song. Even if you are not religious, you MUST check out this video. The message is strong, but the song at the end is incredible.

This is part 2 of our trip in California! I had to put it into two parts due to so many pictures I had to capture. This was some trip too in ten days. We did so much in just that amount of time.

Here's the begining of our road trip with Grammy & Grampy. Grammy took advantage of this one on one time with Angie and Grampy and caught up with conversation that was so needed.

Lots of games were played, music to listen to and laughs and giggles were done, and the sights were nice to see.

Mad libs was very popular in the back seat.

We stopped for lunch at Bob's Big Boys on our way to Flagstaff Arizona. This was a diner I went to when I was a kid. There isn't very many of these, these days so this was treat. I remember they use to give these paper mask with the kids meals. This one was one of the oringal ones. No modern touches was added which was nice to see. It was holding up pretty good too. The food was the same too.

It was fun going down memory lane there.

Angie wanted breakfast instead. We did get up pretty early.

Grampy too!

We made it to Arizona! Now you would think Arizona would be nice and warm and it's spring weather in full force. Nope! Not were we were going!

It was a winter wonder land here! ha! ha! Just when you were ready for spring well here you had to wait just a little bit longer. It was so pretty!

It was snowing pretty good too! It was a white out here! No just kidding! But it was snowman making snow.

This was our first stop in Flagstaff Arizona. Grammy picked this really cool hotel over in the college town. The hotel was walking distance to Grammy & Grampy's favorite restuarant "Olive Garden. It also had a great swimming pool for Miss Angie to get her cooped up wiggles out with. The place was hip and modern and a nice free breakfast in the morning. So I had my tea in the morning.

I think Angie was happy too!

This was our room! See how hip it is!

We walked/snow ball fight to Olive Graden for dinner.

Angie was very good at making sure Grampy was hit by lots of snow balls. She was giggling the whole time.

This was our dinner time view at the Olive Graden.

It was a must to order hot chocolate. You know how it wouldn't be a good snow day if we didn't have hot chocolate.

This was our view from our room window. It was so peaceful and pretty.

Reading and staying warm for the night after a nice long swim. Angie was a happy girl.

Back on the road we went. This is when Grammy & Grampy were ready to kill my GPS I brought along! He! He! We went through a lot of places were my GPS wasn't recongnizing so it was "RECALCULATING" quit a bit. I'm not sure if they want a GPS now! ha! ha!

More Mad Libs!

Now it's sunny and dry mountains! In just a hour! Isn't that crazy! It was still cold though.

McDonnald stop! They had these on the happy meal boxes so we couldn't resist but get goofy with them.

Blue skies! Puffy clouds!

Now we are in Colorado visiting our Uncle Bob Blackwell and cousin Steve and his wife Coleen. It was kinda nice for Angie to meet some more of my family since she left California at such a young age. So now when I do the Christmas cards at Christmas time or talk about these family members she can put a face with them.

We stopped at mexican restuarant for dinner that night and it was yummy! This trip was all new to Angie and I cause we both have never been to Colorado before. My Aunt Mary & Uncle Bob Blackwell always lived on there ranch in California. They moved to Colorado a few years back. so this was a treat to come out this way and see them here.

Of course we had to get ice cream after dinner! Well I didn't Angie did! Ice cream isn't friendly to me!

Look at Angie's face! She is such a pistol! She likes to give me faces when I take pictures. She knows that it gets my goat so she keeps doing it...little turkey! Anyway... we are at the Mesa Verde National Park here. It has preserved the high plateaus of Mesa Verde. These were homes to the Puebloan Indians. The cool part the kids have learned about these Indians in their history classes, so it was neat to see up close.

There was wild horses on the mountains too. Angie thought that was pretty cool!

Angie and her faces! Really Angie! Little toad! ha! ha!

We found a little doll...had to take a picture of that!

This was their jewerly they made by hand with stone and seeds.

This was made from the Utah Indians a little more bead work and detail.

Cute baby shoes here.

This is one of the villages we went through. It was pretty amazing!

Angie and Grampy went in one of the under ground homes. I asked Angie what did you think of that? She came back to tell me it smelled like B.O.! She cracks me up!

We saw a few more on our way back to Steves.

Then we went into town to Durango Colorado and that was fun. Angie bought this great moneky hat cause she is my little monkey. She picked it out of course, my crazy girl. She keeps me laughing always. We had a great lunch at a Mexican restuarnt which you probably think by now they have a lot of great mexican food there. ha! ha!

Angie once again got a nice little treat after lunch!

Went through a lot of cowboy leather shops there. I couldn't resist I had share this picture to the world of my folks you know the ones that parent me in my young years see this explans a lot now right John!? Just kidding just having a little fun always! They are my heros!

This saids please look at my sparkly butt!

The old train station was there too.

This was actually an old western town and it is a great place to visit. I think if I remember right my dad said it dates back in the 1700's. Pretty neat!

Here we went to the bee house where they make their own honey here. Angie was taught a whole lot of science and history lessons on this trip. Pretty neato!

They even canned their own honey at the bee house.

This was our goodbye's to Uncle Bob and Cousin Steve and his wife Coleen. It was a nice trip.

My Uncle and Cousin Steve are big hunters there so Angie asked a lot of questions. Course her daddy and brothers hunt birds so this wasn't any thing new to her so she under stood alot.

It was good to catch up and spend some good times.

I told Angie the deer heads talk to each other and sing when we go to sleep at night. I think she kinda believed me...she had the look like; "Maybe they do"!

Now we are in Anthem Arizona and it was preason for baseball there so it was one busy city.

We caught up with old friends there too. this was our last stop on our way back to California.

Another great hotel Grammy picked for us to sleep over night in and yes it had a pool for Angie.

This was a talking bird! It was funny!
This was family friend Charlenes bird, Angie couldn't believed it talked.

We had to stop and say hi to long time old friend Charlene there in Anthem Arizona. We had a again (ha! ha!) a yummy mexican dinner with them.

I couldn't resist! On our way home I saw this bug with eye lashes!

Last of Angie's Birthday gifts a trip to down town L.A. To the American Girl Store.

Grammy and Angie and I went to the Grove in California. It was great!

Angie was in doll heaven! She had money to spend and she had fun spending it!

She even got a new doll thanks to Grammy. I think Grammy had a good time here too!

Angie likes the Kit stories.

These gingerbread cookies were so cute I had to take a picture of them.

Angie even had her old doll Nikki's hair done pretty.

She did a great job. Angie seemed to be happy.

Now Angie can say she's been to the American girl store! What a fun all girl day and wonderful memories she shared with her Grammy and mom! This was the fun part of being a girl!

Lunch time was good too! What perfect ending to our California trip!

We saw this on our way home from L.A. I just had to take a picture. This was totally a Rockwell moment. I spotted this old classic on our way home from L.A. and so when we got close enough it totally reminded me of something Rockwell would paint. This truely was an american moment to catch. There was the cute grandparents driving the car and the grandma had the great curly hair do and the cat shaped glasses on and the grandpa with a hat. In the back seat was the grandkids crashed out from their day with the grandparents. Just classic Rockwell moment!

This truely was a great trip for the Minger girls! We so needed this 10 day get away!
