Can your eye spy the red Cardinal on this tree?
Isn't he lovely? They like my Pussy Willow tree that I planted when we first moved into our house. Little reading that I did on the tree and thought it was only a bush, well now it's 15 + tall and the Cardinals love it! So of course I put a bird feeder there to watch all the action. The birds in this state are so beautiful. When we first moved to Virginia we rented a town house and this town houses kitchen was on the 2end level and it had one wall of a big window and it was as tall as the trees outside the window and every morning I woke up to birds every where. It was so nice sipping my tea too. There too was a Cardinal family. I felt like I was in a tree house. The kids loved it too. I started to learn what song is each bird. It's so peaceful.
The bird in the top picture is the female! I caught her too. They visit us every day, mostly in the morning and late afternoon.

Country Living magazine had a article that caught my eye...It was this, The National Audubon Socitety and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology are asking folks to keep an eye out for birds Feb.12 through 15, then record their sightings at birdcount.org. The data lets researchers understand the ways our fine feathered friends respond to the changing temperatures and other environmental shifts. Well this was pretty easy for me cause I'm always finding myself watching mother nature! It really is so lovely! PS. Try not to look at the poop pile on the ground my dog left me that morning. Sorry about that! Ha! ha! That's sick! Again keeping it real!
